Air admittance valve for drainage systems replacing vent pipe in wastewater system
Durgo Air Admittance Valve (AAVs) is a substitute of vent pipes. Durgo AAVs will open when there is air in the system or flushing and immediately close to trap the smell. Advantages of using Durgo AAVs include giving more space in the shaft by eliminating vent stack, reduce the size of the shaft, and reduce the horizontal vent stack.
Durgo AAVs can be installed near sanitary wear which lead to the system to easily allow air into the system. This fixes the problem of the trap not having enough water which lead to unpleasant smells. AAVs are also used to replace VTR (Vent Through Roof) on the roof and allowing space on the roof to be utilized.
Durgo AAVs use technology from Sweden and is widely accepted in Europe to replace vent pipe for over 50 years because many advantages such as saving construction cost and time, reduce smell in the system, and reduce spread of germs in the system
