What are the advantages of Thai PP-R?
Thai PP-R was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional piping materials, including corrosion in cast iron pipes and the limited resistance of PVC pipes to hot water and pressure. To address these challenges, THAI PP-R offers the following key advantages:
o Join by heat fusion to create strong, homogeneous joints that help minimize the risk of leakage.
o Can withstand temperatures of up to 95°C and pressures of up to 20 bar, with a calculated service life of more than 50 years based on the Long-Term Behavior Table.
o Clean, safe, and certified by WRAS and NSF, THAI PP-R provides
a hygienic and reliable solution compared with other types of plastic piping. It does not rust, contain no harmful chemicals or carcinogenic substances, and helps minimize bacterial buildup.
o Approximately one-eighth the weight of cast iron, with a density of only 0.897 g/cm³, making it easy to transport, handle, and install.
o The smooth inner surface minimizes flow resistance and provides excellent flow performance.
o Its low thermal conductivity helps reduce heat transfer and may require less insulation than cast iron piping, depending on the operating conditions. Please refer to the insulation guidelines for further details.
o Environmentally Friendly. THAI PP-R is made from clean, high-quality plastic raw materials and is classified among the safer types of plastic. It is durable, long-lasting, and recyclable because it is a thermoplastic.
